Comoros 500 francs banknote from 1994 is similar to previously issued notes but bearing the Banque Centrale des Comores instead of Institut dEmission des Comores. The obverse side features an administrative building in Mutsamudu and two women wearing shiromani. It also has a close-up face of a woman wearing shiromani. The reverse of the banknote is backdropped with the Moheli island and a beach with palm trees and pirogue boats. It has a crescent moon on the Maltese cross as its watermark but it has no security thread. This 140 x 75 mm paper currency is signed by Governor Mohamed Halifa and the Chairman of the Board of Directors Ahmed Abdou. This particular banknote is graded PMG 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
