This uncirculated 1 Irish pound note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Central Bank of Ireland as part of the Irish History series. It is a green, olive, pink, and red note that is dated 17 July 1989, bear the signatures of Maurice F. Doyle and S. P. Cromien, and measures 148 mm x 78 mm. Its obverse side features pre-Christian geometric designs found on bone slips, Medb, the legendary Queen of Connaught, and the excerpt from the Tain. Its reverse side shows an extract from the Book of the Dun Cow from the 12th century. Security features include a solid security thread and a watermark of Lady Lavery. The note was withdrawn in 1990.
